Management turnover is increasing. As it does, there are more and more managers in companies making business and personnel decisions based on ignorance.
We hear an executive saying something to the effect “We need to reduce expenses. It is not personal. We have no choice, we need to cut costs in order to survive.” It sounds so decisive and so action oriented.
Layoffs are commonplace. What is not is the recognition that we need to grieve. We need to acknowledge that our world has changed and that we have lost something.
